ABOUT

  • Thank you for coming to my web site. A little about me. My name is Walter Diaz, a devoted Husband, Father of 2 with 3 granddaughters. Formerly a native of Florida and a former Tampa Police Officer. Moved to North Carolina and loving the change of the seasons. I am a semi-retired Pastor of a non-denominational church, an Ordained minister of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. I say semi-retired Pastor because in reality, Pastors never really retire from sharing the Gospel, we just are no longer leading a local congregation. I have been studying the Holy Scriptures since 1992 after leaving the Roman Catholic Church. It has been quite a spiritual journey studying numerous Denominations with their various theological positions. Over time and through a great deal of study and prayer, I have changed my positions on a few different topics. I am never afraid to address any topic matter in the Scriptures no matter how “controversial” and we will be doing just that.

  • The main purposes of this site is to share the Gospel to the lost, address numerous Theological topics and help those seeking God’s truth by learning the fundamentals of proper Bible study. Sadly, this is an area that most churches have failed in and miserably so. Many Pastors will recommend certain books by their favorite authors, which naturally supports their beliefs. Many times certain “Study Bibles” are recommended but that is actually a huge problem because the commentaries are by men with very bias theological understandings. Commentaries are not always correct on a wide range of subject matter. This is a huge problem because many people do not want to dig into the scriptures and search out the truth, they would rather someone just tell them what the scriptures say.  I have been in Bible study groups where instead of really teaching from the scriptures, someone will merely facilitate the study by reading through a book by a specific author which of course holds to that church’s theology. This is nothing more than being indoctrinated into that church’s theological positions and beliefs. It also demonstrates that that particular Bible study teacher really does not know God’s word.  But how would anyone know this unless they truly know how to study the Bible on their own and are able to set their personal bias aside and objectively, with humility, study and challenge what they believe and accept that what they believe about any given subject might not be correct. This is a difficult thing for many Christians to accept. Why is that? Basically, pride and fear get in the way. Consider a Christian who has been attending a Church for a period of time, maybe even their whole life. They have made friends and they most likely believe all the same things. What would happen if one of them came to the inescapable conclusion that one or more of their “Doctrines/Teachings” is not correct? There is the reality that they may be asked to leave their church. This is known as getting the right foot of fellowship. What happens with the people you have been friends with at that church? Will they also shun you? Will they speak badly about you and call you a heretic for believing differently?
  • Sadly, this happens more often than it should. But do not let that scenario deter you from learning God’s truth. The most important thing is to come to the knowledge of God’s truth no matter where it leads you. There are teachings throughout Christianity that are seriously bad and have the potential of leading someone away from Christ. Some teachings can potentially either directly or indirectly affect your salvation. False teachings can weaken a person’s faith in Christ. My goal throughout these studies is help you grow closer and stronger in your faith with God and Christ Jesus His only begotten Son. So come and take this journey with me through God’s written Word.
